Marketing new products and services is a small part of the actual goal businesses strive to reach. The importance of gaining new customers and satisfying current customers is the main struggle of businesses today. Through facebook applications, businesses can provide for the latest products, services, promotions, events, and contests. This is key for customer engagement and satisfaction.

This is a contest I recently came to know about of booster juice. Sadly however, only those residing in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, N.B., P.E.I., and Saskatchewan are eligible to enter:(
Like many, I'm completely addicted to facebook and what better way to keep up with news and stay updated about Booster juice than their facebook page. I'm personally fascinated by the fact that with a click of a button, small businesses are able to reach out to a variety of people with the potential of attracting large target markets.

Purple and Yellow!

So how does Booster Juice open a new store?
Well, it's a long process, but one definitely worth waiting through. Once a new and agreeable location is up for grabs on the market, Booster Juice real estate agents and representatives work out the policies and paperwork's that follow and confirm lease. The next step is to validate it's actual location, whether it's going to be located in malls (most common) , or stand on its own as a new development. From there a time line is created of roughly 4-5 months of all work necessary before its grand opening. The time line: sketches, drawings, colours, interior design, and construction of the new store, which go through a series of representatives and are ultimately approved and executed on this basis.
As seen on their website, the 3 architectural designs Booster Juice is popular to embracing

Last but not least, training is necessary before completing and opening the store for service.

For me, visiting all the different Booster Juice locations, what really stuck out is their company's colours. I'm completely fond of their use in the colours purple and yellow because I personally feel it's very inviting and comforting. Researching their development of new stores taught me how much I value the use of colours and how it influences me. Never have I ever really given much thought toward the Booster Juice colours until now. I think it maybe because it was generally my first interaction with the company before I actually used their service, therefore, it's probably what stayed most memorable to me. I mean, who wants to go get a fresh smoothie from a store that uses dark and depressing colours? For me, it's about really starting the day off fresh, and I feel good going down to a Booster Juice store and enjoying a nice beverage while chatting up with a few friends.

BOOSTER JUICE SETS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

Booster Juice gained a lot of media attention when they broke the world record for making the worlds largest smoothie ever. The picture below shows the event that was documented in the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS.

The event took place in a Booster Juice location in the Sunrise Shopping Centre in Kitchener, Ontario, and took 3.5 hours, 7 blenders and 195 gallons of smoothie! Not only Did Booster Juice break a world record but they also raised $100 for the Canadian Cancer Society from selling the smoothie in 24 oz cups to onlookers.

As always we are excited to have set yet another benchmark in the Juice and Smoothie Bar industry and support such a great charitable organization", stated Dale WIshewan (Booster Juice Co-Founder)

This is an amazing accomplishment not only because it is a world record but because of the good publicity and business that got attracted to the franchise from this event.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION IN THE GROWING JUICE SEGMENT

Juice and smoothie bars are now an important segment in Canada’s competitive beverage sector. According to Entrepreneur Magazine the annual growth of smoothie bars is 25% annually while the fast food segment is barely growing at 5%.
In America Jamba Juice already has 700 stores nationwide contributing to the $1 billion industry in that country. Booster Juice really has to know what they are doing and its going to get tougher for them to stay the number one fastest growing Juice bar in Canada.

Competitors for Booster Juice are bubbling up all over Canada such as Jugo Juice (a Calgary based company who joined the franchise fray in 2002 and continues to grow), and Euphoria Smoothies (based in North Bay, Ontario, and have licences in the U.S., U.K., UAE, and India.

Main Competitors:

When you go to the mall food court you see A LOT of different drink and frozen yogurt type of options and Booster Juice is not always our first choice. You will see a variety of drink options such as Bubble Tease, Dairy Queen/ Orange Julius, Freshly Squeezed, Jugo Juice, Teaopia, Yogen Fruz etc.

Do you prefer Booster Juice over these competitors? Which one of the drink places do you prefer?

ALL ABOUT THE HEALTH

Wisheman and Amack faced challenges when deciding if the concept would succeed in Canada. As you know Canada has a more colder climate and they weren't sure how juice would fit into it. Would Canadians even be interested in this?

Because they knew what works in the American market would not always work in the Canadian one, they had to study the American model and also the Canadian market. While doing this they were testing out hundreds of recipes.

They were determined to make a product that was irresistible to northern taste buds while also keeping in mind the healthy people of Canada. Below are images of what some Booster Juice products look like.

Another thing we think is really great is how healthy Booster Juice is for you. People are very conscious about their health in today’s day and Booster Juice is a very healthy alternative. It is very smart of them to make an alternative to the high fat beverages offered by other fast food chains, this really gives them a competitive advantage.

WHERE CAN I GET SOME? ALL ABOUT LOCATIONS!!!

Here we have a brief history on the location of Booster Juice. The very first booster juice store opened up in 1999 in Edmonton and has now grown to being located in over 170 locations worldwide and across North America.

You may be wondering where you can find Booster Juice? You’re in luck because Booster Juice is located from Victoria, British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. Also you can find it all the way from New York to Los Angeles in the United States!

How about internationally? Internationally Booster Juice is located in India, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates! This image shows the appearance of a typical Booster Juice bar.

We think it’s great that Booster Juice is opening in so many locations. We both enjoy going to Booster Juice whenever we are at the mall and especially in the summer, it is really good refreshment for a really hot day or just to get a nice drink on any day. We would recommend Booster Juice to anyone and for anyone that has not tried it yet you should absolutely have it next time you are at the mall!

A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT BOOSTER JUICE AND HOW IT ALL BEGAN

You might be wondering how Booster Juice all began, it began when Canadian Dale Wishewan and American Jon Amack met at a school in Oregon and started casually discussing business trends.

They had some knowledge of the growing juice and smoothie bar in the United States and decided to be the very first to bring it to Canada and start their own business. They decided to grow the business on values that they believed in and not focus it all on profit.

What is their most important belief, and how do they make their business a success? FOCUS ON QUALITY. Which is something the store is very proud of achieving. Below is a video featuring Co-Founder Jon Amack speaking a little bit about the franchise.

We think that this was a great business opportunity to venture into the popular growing smoothie bar market and bring it into Canada. Wisheman and Amack took a great business risk and it paid off in the end because they are now the fastest growing juice bar in Canada!
